Obituary

We are sad to share that our beloved Chloe Adele Nossaman-Welch crossed over the rainbow bridge from her earthly life to her heavenly one almost to the day we adopted her 14 years ago.

Chloe added an enormous amount of love, fun and laughter to our lives. Her shepherding instinct brought the two of us closer in our relationship. Chloe was most happy when we were all in the same room. If we were not, she was situated somewhere half-way between us. Snuggling in bed was her favorite time – she could stretch across half the bed and be next to both of us. Chloe also touched the lives of those she encountered personally or from social media. We took her on as many trips as we could because she made them more fun and we wanted her to see the country. She went to our favorite place, Santa Fe, NM over 40 times. People always remembered Chloe's name, not necessarily ours. She had an unexplainable way of touching people's hearts and more than once a stranger said "thank you Chloe for blessing me!"

Though her death will leave a huge void in our heart that nothing could fill, we are better human beings because of her. We will now cherish the memories (and thousands of pictures) we have with her and the rules of life she taught us:

1. Unconditionally love every person you meet.
2. See the inherent good in each person.
3. Greet the people you encounter with exuberant enthusiasm – even if you just saw them minutes ago.
4. Experience the puppy (or child) inside you, even when your body is wearing out.
5. Thank the people you love with liberal kisses.
6. Don't hold in intestinal gas. It's just not healthy.

In honor and memory of Chloe we will be setting up a matching gift for the Panhandle Companions Fund through the Amarillo Area Foundation.

This fund supports animal welfare in the Texas Panhandle by funding veterinary care, cruelty prevention, and adoption services. It focuses on improving the lives of companion animals through community-driven projects, with donations managed by the foundation. Your donation will be doubled because of Chloe. Details will be forthcoming.

We both want to thank Chloe's veterinarians over the years (Janice E Wolf, Natalie Wilson Harrison, Dai McWhorter, Ramy Moudy Jisha and Kim Nethery) and all of you for the love and support that you have given us on our journey with Chloe. 🩷🩷🩷
