Lincoln Black (June 27th, 2015 - November 14, 2025)
We met Lincoln as a brand new kitten - before he was even ready to leave his mom. From the minute I held him in my hands, I knew we needed him in our family. A few weeks later, after he was weaned, we picked him up and drove two hours home while he slept in my lap. He immediately connected with our four dogs. They would allow him to crawl all over them and play with their toys. He was often found snoozing in their beds with them. Four years later, we found ourselves in a new home, and Lincoln seemed anxious. After determining that nothing was physically wrong with him, we decided to get a second cat to be his buddy. This was exactly what Lincoln needed. Maverick came into our lives, and he and Lincoln quickly became a bonded pair. They slept together, groomed each other, and followed each other around the house. Where one cat was, the other followed. When our twins were born, Lincoln became protective and curious. He always wanted to be near them.

Lincoln was extremely loving. He was happy to be with us at night and get his head scratched. He had the most beautiful and striking green eyes. He also loved the outdoors and could be found snoozing in the catio or exploring in the backyard. He had an AirTag on his collar, and I would have to check his location each night before I went to bed to ensure he was in the house. Many nights, I would be in the backyard, in my pajamas with a flashlight, urging him to come inside.

Overall, he was truly the best cat. We miss his presence in our home. Maverick misses his brother. Thank you, Lincoln, for loving our family for 10 years. We will remember you always.
