Muffin (Puff, Puff Muff, Muffy Puff, Baby Muff) entered our lives on February 14, 2009. While it was Valentine's Day, you didn't need to believe in Cupid to know that when Judy and Muffin locked eyes, it was love at first sight. They needed each other. Muffin served as honorary guard dog for our family but beloved nurse maid exclusively to Judy for just over 16 years. She took each role seriously but also took the role of "sausage biscuit share-er" equally seriously.
Muffin did it all; she was well-traveled, having visited four different states in her lifetime. She enjoyed a car ride of any length, a cushy hotel stay and comfort of Judy's touch. Along with these, she favored the taste of a chicken tender and was not a fan of water sports.
In taking her role as guard dog seriously, Muffin has successfully completed one full speed tackle of a dog four times her size. It was her personal duty to ensure that each dog in our home knew to bark at every mailman. Most impressively, she bit the ankles of two different individuals, setting a new household record. Muffin was an excellent judge of character even after her hearing and eyesight started to fade.
In caring for Judy, Muffin saw her human through two hospital stays, multiple dr's appointments, one significant car accident, two major surgeries and a number of minor procedures. Muffin was here for Judy, even skipping meals if it meant being by Judy's side. Muffin's spot was wherever Judy's spot was all the way until her parting of this earth on June 14, 2025.
Muffin is loved by many, bit a few and missed by all.
