October 12, 2009 - February 26, 2024
Murcee came into my life at the end of 2009, a year I then believed had been pretty rough. Murcee was not a planned addition to my home, but when I was offered to add another dachshund doghter to my home, I could not refuse.
When it came to naming her, the word "mercy" kept surfacing in my heart after such a difficult year. I felt the Good Lord was giving me some "mercy" at the end of my year. With a mixture of the spelling of my beautiful grandmother's nickname, Murcee was named.
Murcee was a great doghter. She was always present for me, even during her own health issues and even in her last earthly days. We always called her my velcro dog, because wherever I was, there she was too. A tiny heartbeat at my feet, always ready to trot circles for treats, food, or to be picked up for love and kisses.
14 years of life we shared together. I will miss the welcome home barks and the crazy excitement she always had for life. I'll forever miss the gentle pokes with her nose at the back of my legs, the kisses I would always give her on her forehead, and our naps with her resting on my chest.
Murcee is proceeded in death by my other doghter, Roxie in 2021. I pray those two red healthy and healed dachshunds are having a great reunion.
