Mid 2010, Onyx was a stray puppy in the streets of El Paso where he was found and fostered with a family about a week before finding his forever home with his human father. Early in his life, he had many nicknames from "Onyxie" to "Ernesto" to "Sonic" given to him by his newfound family and loved ones and each nickname came from endearing moments. He was very protective of his father as well as his living spaces, but once his guard dropped, he gave limitless love and displayed solid trust. After every walk, he would go to the kitchen and wait for his favorite treat impatiently with a fast tail wag often catching his father's legs. He loved jumping up on loved ones ready to dance on his strong hind legs. Growing older, he adorably rebelled to unnecessary rules from jumping onto the couch to taking over the bed with his father. He knew he could hardly get in trouble especially when presenting the traditional "I learned my lesson" puppy dog eyes.
Onyx and his father knew that his earthly departure would shatter his father's heart in pieces, but every day and every night, his father assured him that they would always be near and both at peace that he is no longer physically suffering and will never be forgotten. His father thanks him for entering his life and allowing him to take care of each another for the next 13 years.
Onyx is forever loved and forever missed.
