Outlaw was a shepard mix and was at least 13 when he passed away. He had been struggling with arthritis & dementia for some time.
Outlaw came to us in July of 2010. He initially would only go close to our 4 yr old daughter, for the longest time.
We tried to find his owner in the area & a man down the road from us, had started calling him Outlaw, because he would
always escape a yard. He would come around quite often & then started becoming protective of our yard & would try to go after
people that came close to the yard, especially anyone on a bike, so to keep us from getting into trouble & anyone getting hurt,
we decided to adopt Outlaw & his friend Lucie. Both were strays & both were adults at that time.
Outlaw & Lucie would try every which way to escape any yard that we had & we eventually became very good at dog proofing a yard:)
Outlaw was a longtime protector of our family & will be sincerely missed.
Once you are an experienced pet owner, you know when their quality of life cannot get any better
& you are their only advocate to help them in their last chapter of life.
My daughter & I took Outlaw to the Small Animal Emergency Clinic to end his pain.
They were very kind & respectful and gave us some options for burial and cremation
