Today, we remember and honor Shadow, the beloved companion of our dear Sammy. After Sammy passed, Shadow stayed by his wife's side, helping fill a void that only a friend like her could. She was more than a dog; she was a bridge to his memory, a loyal, loving extension of his spirit, and a piece of our hearts.
We'll never forget her ornery bark that demanded our attention the moment we walked through the door, nor the comfort she brought to all of us who loved Sammy. We like to think they're together again—our Pappy and Shadow—with her loyally guarding her treats that he's given her in her bed and happily playing by his side.

Run free, sweet girl, until we meet again.
